Introducing the new and improved Our Story, Our City

(Contest closed April 8, 2016)

City of Vaughan blog redesigned and refreshed

We gave Our Story, Our City a makeover and it’s looking brand new! Take a tour and see what’s changed.

Refreshed with a new web design, you can view the blog on your smartphone, tablet and computers without affecting quality and ease. It’s now easier to find the articles you want to read with more categories to organize content.

The main page’s navigation bar has images that link you to important City resources and updates. Along the right-hand side are popular stories and editor’s picks. You can also easily follow our Twitter and Facebook sites with embedded live feeds.

So what do you think? We want to hear your feedback about the new blog. That’s why we’re kicking off a contest for a chance to win one of three $50 Vaughan Mills gift cards!

All you have to do is leave a comment on blog articles published in 2016. Your comments should answer any questions posed at the end of the blog post or offer meaningful feedback, such as:

  • How does this information affect you?
  • Do you have any ideas to add?
  • What do you like most about this post?
  • What kind of followup post would you like to see?

    1. Thanks for another great contest! It’s been a while since I have visited the site, so I’m not sure what is different, but the site looks good!

    2. Great idea to engage conversations on the blog. Looking forward to see what’s coming up in the City and on this platform.

      Keep up the good work!

    3. It is a very easy and detailed website and very user friendly .
All the detail information is on the website

      We.l Done

    4. Looks very clean and bright , and Bold. I like the green and blue colors, very soothing.
Everyone likes pictures , so let us see lots of pictures of events in Vaughan, that is always good. I always like to read about stories of others, i.e. how to save energy, garden tips, parenting tips, cooking recipes, joke stories, links to websites that maybe helpful. Thank you.

    5. Great work on the new up-date, I have been with the City for 25 years we have come a long way regarding social media. It keeps us informed on the happening in our great City of Vaughan.

    6. I very much enjoy the Vaughan content, as we are usually saturated with GTA news. It would be so great to have even more info written by actual Vaughan citizens. Keep it up!

    7. The new website looks good, user-friendly and good use of the text size for the older generation. I’m concerned a little about the social media icons located at the top being too small. There’s also a slight glitch when hovering over the menu bar on the ‘culture’ and ‘growth’

I’m also wondering if you were to publish the past events onto this blog website? Like a ‘Remember when…?’ kind of article. It might be easier to find event images here rather than the FB page.

    8. Well worth the 2.7% tax hike.
I can read the blogs while stuck on highway 7 going from keele to weston for 30 minutes.
Oh, but my taxes went up and I’m spending gas idling.. Guess I have to cancel my internet, making these blogs irrelevant. But if I were rich, yes, these blogs would be nice.

    9. Its great this City is keeping up with the times and keeping information flowing to the many great citizens of Vaughan
