Do you have 20 minutes to spare this Earth Day?

On April 22, thousands of Vaughan citizens will participate in the annual 20-Minute Makeover event to celebrate Earth Day and the Pitch-In Canada Campaign.

The 20-Minute Makeover is part of the City’s ongoing environmental outreach that supports Green Directions Vaughan, the Community Sustainability and Environmental Master Plan. The event encourages Vaughan residents to gather friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to take 20 minutes to go outside, be active and help clean up litter in our communities.

Just 20 minutes can make a difference. Last year, more than 17,000 people participated in the litter cleanup. Elder Mills Public School collected more than 40 bags of litter – that’s an average of two bags filled per minute!

So rally your friends and put together a 20-Minute Makeover team today. If you register your team, the City will provide you with free bags and gloves. All you have to do is email environment@vaughan.ca to request a registration form (registration deadline is April 13).

Don’t forget to send us pictures of your cleanup!
