Lighting up the Christmas spirit at Vaughan City Hall

Christmas is a time when family and friends gather together to celebrate new and old traditions. From cookie making and gift giving, to tree decorating and more, there are countless activities and festivities for all ages to enjoy during the holiday season. What traditions do you participate in during this time of the year?

For the City of Vaughan, we get together each year to light up a 35-foot-tall Christmas tree at Vaughan City Hall. What’s a merrier way to start the holiday season than watching 15,000 twinkling Christmas lights turn on before your eyes?

Join Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. to bring City Hall’s Christmas tree to life. There will be festive music, holiday goodies and more. Santa will pay a visit to bring holiday cheer and to take photos with you and your loved ones.

Don’t forget to bring a new, unwrapped toy for children in need in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish. The program benefits hundreds of thousands of people through toy and financial support. This year, the City aims to collect more than 10,000 toys for children aged newborn to 18 years.
